Abstract :A new edge detection method for SAR images using sparse
representation and Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LS-SVM) is
presented. To suppress speckle, a new improved sparse representation
de-noising in Shearlet domain is applied to SAR image first. After
that, high quality SAR image edge can be detected by using LS-SVM
edge detector. The experimental results demonstrate its
effectiveness and superiority in terms of edge positioning accuracy
and integrity. And it also has a fewer false edge points.
